What Waypoint stores
A trip you create — its days, entries, packing list and attachments — is stored on your device first, and kept in sync with Supabase (a hosted Postgres database) so it reaches your other devices and anyone you have shared the trip with. An attachment — a boarding pass, a ticket, a confirmation photo — is stored the same way, through Supabase Storage.
None of this requires a connection to read or write. A write made on a plane reaches Supabase once there is one.
Reading confirmations
If you turn on Reading confirmations (Account → Reading confirmations), what you write in a trip's thread is sent to Anthropic, the company behind Claude, which reads it and sends back the flights, stays and times it found. It is not used to train their models. This is off by default, and you are asked before it is ever used — not just once, in a settings screen you might not visit.
Nothing else in Waypoint depends on this. Your timetable, its time zones, and everything you have packed all work with it left off.
Account and deletion
Signing in uses Supabase Auth with an email link — no password is stored anywhere. Deleting your account (Account → Delete account) erases your name, email and photo from every trip you were on, and removes your login entirely. A trip you own passes to whoever has been on it longest, or is removed if you were the only one on it. This cannot be undone.
